About

Rebecca Aviva Van Horn (Becca) is a writer, illustrator, designer, and early 1990s style icon who lives and works in northern New England. After getting her MFA in creative writing, Becca fell in love with the delight of visual storytelling through art and graphic design. She now combines collage, textures, and patterns to create whimsical designs and illustrations and writes books for children that celebrate stories of animals with big hearts and ferocious wanting. She also teams up with her husband Toby to create custom wood art through Barn Dog Studios, where they blend wood cutouts and epoxy resin to celebrate all things silly, natural, and beautiful.

When she’s not making things, you can find Becca roaming the woods of New England with her two dogs, playing folk music, and reading at least three books at the same time.
